With versatility, timelessness and sustainability at its core, B&B Italia’s expanded Erica ’25 collection sets a new standard in luxury alfresco living.
When B&B Italia debuted its Erica Outdoor collection in 2017, it comprised just three pieces – an armchair, sofa and chair. Despite its relatively modest size, the range evolved to become a dominant presence in the sector, redefining outdoor living with its elevated design language and superb craftsmanship.
With the release of the Erica ’25 Outdoor collection, the Italian furniture giant reaffirms its position as a pre-eminent name in the realm of luxury outdoor living. The extended range includes new seating options, tables, coffee tables, finishes and materiality while, as designer Antonio Citterio insists, “maintaining its distinctive and refined character”.
Versatility is at the heart of the collection. “I tried to find solutions to the different typologies of use for outdoor furniture, from the terrace to the swimming pool and into the garden, and for private residences and hotels,” explains Citterio. “Each new element is designed to blend harmoniously with various spaces, making every environment unique and welcoming.

“Additionally,” he continues, “the extended range is designed to suit any lifestyle – from minimal to decorative, urban chic to Mediterranean – so as to best express the personality and preferences of our customers.” The collection’s innate durability and weather resistance also make Erica ’25 an ultra-attractive long-term investment in outdoor living.
Available in Australia exclusively at Space Furniture, the collection comprises sofas – including both curved and modular iterations – a sun lounge, chairs, a dormeuse, tables and a daybed and armchair both featuring high backs and integrated headrests for the ultimate alfresco comfort. The sophisticated materiality of the earlier pieces is retained – powder-coated, die-cast aluminium frames and polypropylene fibre interlacing with a high-tensile internal core – joined by teak and fused-glass table surfaces. These elements are complemented by a sumptuous range of fabrics in a wide array of tones and designs.
The new tables bring a refined aesthetic to outdoor spaces. The frames of the rectangular and round dining tables and low-slung coffee table – available in three sizes – come in five contemporary colours, including olive bronze, aquamarine and dove grey, with either slatted teak or fused-glass tops. The glass is created through a process that imbues it with a distinctive textural surface, almost like rippling water, and is back-painted in three shades – a soft jade green, dramatic emerald green and bold coral red.
Ideally suited for Australian poolside or beachside living, the new stackable sun lounge blends the robust durability of aluminium with an elegant form that harks back to the Amalfi Coast lifestyle of the 1960s and ’70s. It continues the interlaced design language of the original Erica range, with a padded mattress and adjustable back. The frame and interlacing come in five complementary colourways, and the lounge features wheels, making it intrinsically mobile.

The new modular seating system underlies Erica’s prime design motivation – pieces whose innate flexibility allow them to seamlessly integrate with any alfresco setting. “Elegance and versatility merge in a sophisticated design, where each module adapts perfectly to different needs and spaces,” explains Citterio, whose portfolio includes such esteemed brands as Vitra, Flos and Kartell.
As the sole Australian stockist for the stunning new collection, Space Furniture reiterates its commitment to curating and delivering the finest international design brands perfectly matched to the local market. The company’s enduring connection with the Italian powerhouse has been further deepened with the opening of the world’s first standalone B&B Italia Outdoor showroom, a landmark space in Commonwealth Street in Sydney’s Surry Hills.
